Kenya

VARIETAL: SL28, Ruiru 11

Process: Washed

Kenya Muranga Karugiro Peaberry coffee is sourced from small family owned farms organized around the Karugiro Factory (wet mill). Located in Muranga County, Kenya, a growing region in the fertile foothills of Mount Kenya, these tiny farms are located 1400-1800 above sea level. Farmers who process their coffee at the Karugiro Factory are members of the Kamacharia Farming Cooperative Society which was established in 1993 and has nearly 4,000 active members, nearly 20% of whom are women.

Ethiopia

VARIETAL: Longberry
Elevation: 1500-1800 meters
Process: Natural

These natural process coffees from the Lekempti region (250km west of Addis Ababa) are grown in/around villages and towns, and are prized for their dense layers of dark fruit and chocolate notes. As in most areas of Ethiopia, farmers averagely own 1.5 acres of land. These coffees are grown between 1500-1800 meters above sea level.

Costa Rica

Elevation: 1200 meters
Process: Washed

Hacienda La Amistad is located near the La Amistad nature preserve, far from more well-known growing regions. Located above 1200 meters, it has been a family farm for generations and much of it remains natural forest. Coffee is the main crop, but the self-sufficient nature of the farm contributes to the quality of the coffee. This varietal is known for its clean, sweet balanced flavour, with nice nut and milk chocolate tastes.
